Standing On Guard

I spotted this fun piece by artist Patrick Amiot outside a gallery in the Yorkville Village neighbourhood. Amiot is a Canadian who is now based in California and makes his whimsical sculptures from recycled metals. I really like the dog in this one! The Mountie is pretty cool though.

The Mountie's moustache is so spidery - hilarious!

This is terrific, RedPat. There is something about that uniform that always grabs attention, and the sculptor has added a humorous twist.

I would like this anyway, but even cooler that it’s made of recycled materials.

I like that. I've loved Mounties ever since I was a child and read 'Susannah of the Mounties'!
